Strange But True

Strange But True

One day a girl was very upset with her life. She was so depressed that she decided to take her life. On deciding so, she thought to jump down the bridge into the sea. Just when she was about to jump, someone pulled her back.

In the darkness of the silent night also she could see his fair face. His deep eyes had a strange spark, which was hard to miss even in the dark. He held her arm and pulled her away from the bridge.

Pulling her to the street he showed her people who had no place to live, no food to eat and yet was surviving in the hard way. She realized her mistake and asked sorry. But he just left. Next morning she visited the bridge to find the man who had saved her from committing a blunder.

He was nowhere to be found. After repeated visits during the day, she decided to visit the place at the night. That night she found him sitting on the bench near the street lamp at the bridge. On seeing her, he said that he knew she had been searching for him.

The girl said that if he knew it why he didn’t turn up all these days. On this he said that he didn’t want to give her another reason for a suicide. She laughed listening this and said that she had learnt her lesson and would not take her life ever. Days passed and they became good friends.

She took pictures with him to keep it as remembrance. One day she proposed him telling that she has fallen in love with him. He got nervous and left without a word. She waited days after that but got no news from him. She didn’t know where he lived. Had no idea where he worked.

All she knew was he would appear at the bridge someday. Years passed and one day she thought of looking at the pictures of him and her once taken years back. She was shocked to see that the picture didn’t have his face but only hers. She checked all the pictures and none had his face.

They were blank. She was bewildered and started enquiring madly about him with just his name and family name. No one knew him until the policeman at the nearby station informed her that he was long dead. He had jumped off the same bridge several years before meeting her.

This was the same bridge where she had attempted suicide that night. She was shocked and broken. She thought of taking her life but she remembered him say that he would not want to be the reason for her suicide. She lived loving him till her last breathe.

Love is unconditional. It makes you weak and it makes you strong. It confuses you and even solves them. Love stories happen with all these special emotions.
